What to Wear: Office Style

Dressing for the office is tricky. On the one hand, the default of business casual is easy to master (even on ones worst days), but on the other it begins to become bland and dull. How many days can I wear a nice blouse and trousers? Another factor is the climate. The weather outside is scorching during the summer, but inside the air conditioning is cranked so low only an Eskimo could work inside.

My office style consists of a few staple pieces mixed with trendier bits. I trade the rotation of my staples, but consistently have a jacket for after 12pm when the air becomes its coldest. I’ve become a bit bored with what my closet has to offer, but rather than going to buy a bunch of new pieces before summer hits I went searching for some inspiration of how to change things up. What I enjoyed about these looks was they fit the season and combine things I have some version of in my closet. For example, the lightweight duster is great for beating the in-office chill, but the sweater is light enough to wear outside in the heat (temporarily of course). Dresses are something I’m trying to incorporate more of, and I love a good slider sandal!
