I can’t believe April is almost over. My birthday is like..10 days away? Yikes. So here’s a bunch of stuff I’m feeling this month.
Reebok’s #perfectnever campaign got a new face last October with Gigi Hadid, and I am obsessed. The campaign seeks to get women to celebrate and be motivated by their imperfections. While I’m not sure my perfectionist personality can completely get behind that idea, the campaign and its athletic styles I can get behind.
Working out can be tough. It requires a lot of dedication and motivation not to mention the physical activity. Looking stylish can definitely help just a little bit. There are three different Gigi looks to shop online at Reebok.com and I can honestly say there are so many pieces worth buying. I was surprised because Reebok really isn’t my go to when it comes to sportwear, but this campaign has changed my mind. Not just because I wish I was as fit and could box like Gigi.
I really like how minimal the collection is, with the exception of the spike leggings. They are basic colors nothing too fancy but still a really big impact. The metallic sneakers are just so cool. Below you’ll find some of my favorite items and photos of the campaign. Check out the rest of the collection and campaign here.
Monday’s are rough. Sure, it’s almost over but who doesn’t love a nice tune to listen to? Or in this case a few tunes. These are just a few songs I’m enjoying right now. A couple are brand new and others I just listen to quite a lot.
Music is definitely going to keep me going through the 4 papers I have to write this week. Yikes…
A good pair of boyfriend jeans are a wardrobe essential. A girl can never have too many different pairs of jeans. Boyfriend jeans go in and out of style, but right make an outfit look relaxed without trying very hard. They are often baggy with a low waist which is a very 90s type of silhouette for girls. Boyfriends jeans can offset dainty pieces like lace or crop tops to add a little something extra to an outfit.
It girls and fashion girls love boyfriends jeans so there’s plenty of places to look for inspiration. One of my favorite ways to wear distressed boyfriend jeans is with a baggy sweater and loafers. It looks effortlessly chic but not too relaxed where it becomes frumpy. There are tons of different washes, styles, and brands to check out so it’s easy to find the right pair.
If you haven’t considered them before or thought they were out of style here is some inspiration to guide you.
A way back somehow (I’m not very sure how) I began receiving the Goop email newsletter. A long with links to interesting stories on their website the offer tips and tricks, how-to’s and product recommendations on fashion and style. At the very end of the newsletter there’s a section of clothing and accessories they currently love. I think it’s pretty cool because what they choose often puts together a really chic outfit with clickable links to buy.
So I’m super casually borrowing it for my blog. I can’t confirm the people at Goop actually use, wear, or love those stylish pieces, but because this is my blog I can confirm I do. I thought this might be a little different than an #OOTD because I want to share the outfits I’m obsessed with or just think are pretty great.
This outfit I wore to Easter dinner at my parents this past weekend. The birdcage skirt is brand new in the spring releases of Who What Wear’s collection with Target. My only gripe is the white is very…thin when it comes to the sun. No matter what color underclothes I tried to wear there was a shadow or they were visible. I would much rather have this skirt in black (it’s available online). Other than a pretty spring skirt the rest of what I chose were just classics in my closet.
Olivia Culpo is a woman of many hats. She’s an actress, cellist, and former beauty queen, but most of all she has terrific style. This makes her eligible to be a source of style inspiration (and subject of Style Crush). I didn’t know much about her other than seeing her on random social media posts during events where style is heavily prevalent.
Olivia was named Miss USA in 2012 and Miss Universe the same year. I’m not entirely sure how Miss Universe works because the entire universe (aliens) aren’t invited to compete? Regardless, from what I’ve learned Olivia’s style combines classic staples with current trends in a fun, flirty way. Some of her staples include bodysuits and high waisted jeans, and she even praises looking to places like Zara and Topshop for trendy pieces that can be worn year after year (#same).
What I really like about her style is she boldly takes on trends like the completely sheer top and keeps them looking classy (when it very easily can go south….fast). Another thing I like is her ability to rock an entire outfit of white pieces. Sure, solid black is a classic but changing it up to white is incredibly polished and chic. One thing I learned during this process is she believes in getting dressed in the moment. She doesn’t plan her outfits ahead of time but rather uses her mood to dictate what she wears to portray how she feels. That’s definitely something worth trying.
As always below are some looks worth trying out but with a few minor changes here and there.
I don’t really have a good theme for this month’s mix/playlist. Sure I could do “spring” but it probably would have ended up with a similar feel anyway (and I’ve done Spring Break). So I’ve just put together a playlist of stuff I’m really into lately. It’s mostly new music (songs or tracks from recently released albums) with a variety of genres.
Some stand out tracks include: Don’t Take the Money by Bleachers which I desperately want to hear in some kind of throwback 1980s teen movie montage, Heatstroke by Calvin Harris which is impossible not to dance to, and Third of May by Fleet Foxes which I’ve been waiting a billion years to hear. I can’t wait for this Fleet Foxes album.
Tracklist and streaming links are below. Enjoy!
