I think I’ve mentioned I am in need of serious outfit inspiration about 36,000 times on this blog now. At least it’s time for Fashion Month (!!!) which means tons and tons of new street style almost daily. Of course I’ll be the first to admit street style definitely isn’t something I can fully pull off around here because you’ll be looked at like an alien if you’re wearing anything remotely put together or fashion forward. But, there are definitely some looks in this lot that are pretty adaptable to everyday life or just dang aesthetically pleasing to look at.
Oh my god, shut up. It’s still hot out. It’s only been September for 5 minutes. – Everyone reading this right now.
But just think of this post as an excuse to go shopping or something. Summer to fall is a weird time. It goes from being 100+ every day to being 70 overnight. It’s hard to make really good outfit choices because one second I’m a little chilly but by 4pm I’m sweating like crazy. There are tons of suggestions on what to do in order to transition a wardrobe between seasons. Keep wearing your favorite sundress but toss on a cardigan (duh). Wear sweaters with shorts. Change out your cute sandals for ankle boots although I actually saw Glamour magazine making a case for wearing your sandals. To each their own I suppose.
The Pumpkin Spice Latte is officially back at Starbucks which means fall is almost here. Okay maybe it’s only the beginning of September and still an average of 106 degrees outside daily, but fall is coming. Even my local Target got in on the action albeit prematurely by featuring three straight mini aisles of pumpkin flavored goods (which had been completely ransacked). I already bought pumpkin spice coffee creamer and I am ready to be rocking sweaters daily.
I’ve already been wearing light, baggy sweaters since about Sunday because I got the most horrible back sunburn over Labor Day. It’s been my saving grace and protection from the sun. Sweaters are my absolute favorite item of clothing because they can be casual or dressed up. There are so many styles to choose from, and they keep you warm. There’s even some materials and cuts that can be worn during the transitional time between summer and fall. Or if you live in Arizona, just the days until suddenly one day its cold and you don’t know how that happened.

Before I take off for what hopefully will be a fun but relaxing weekend, I thought I would share some stuff from around the internet I found interesting. There’s tons of different stuff. Maybe you’ll need some fun conversation starters over the weekend so check out the stories below. There’s a flashlight made of paper, the grossest Instagram account, and even insights into mindful meditation.

It’s time to say au revoir to summer. Well kind of anyway.
Seasonal playlists are my favorite to make because they can soundtrack certain events, holidays, or even days. They can evoke sentiment years later when we stumble upon them or just songs that remind of us times gone by. That sounds pretty eloquent, but I can’t tell you how many times I hear Yeah! by Usher and remember the summer of 2004 (for better or worse). Summer just has a much happier vibe to it and playlists really reflect that. Playlists also offer us an escape from the radio (aka hearing Despacito for the 6,000,001th time). There’s so many different playlists to make for summer. Ones to soundtrack BBQs, road trips, and even floating around the pool doing absolutely nothing.
Ah, Labor Day. The unofficial end of summer is finally here. Too bad the Arizona heat won’t be out of here for at least another month. But it’s time to fully embrace the end of summer and fill the final days with fun activities. There are BBQs, beaches, lakes, boats, picnics, and so many other things to do. I have some really fun plans this weekend, but I’m lacking a little in the style department. I’m just not sure what to wear.
I feel like I’ve been so lazy lately and living in denim shorts, yoga pants, and tank tops. I’ve just been really uninspired, hating my clothes, or down on myself whatever the reason my outfits have been severely lacking. Going into this weekend I decided I should probably give off some better vibes so I looked around for some end-of-summer outfit inspiration.
I feel like this is turning into a Madewell fan blog, but when I saw their fall lookbook I just had to write about it. There’s so many pieces I want to add to my wardrobe. Colder weather is my all time favorite despite the fact I hate being cold. I love layers, knits, and especially a good pair of jeans.
Madewell’s fall lookbook is filled with just those things. Tons of layers, denim, and is menswear inspired. I’m usually a little hesitant to try menswear pieces because I just don’t think they are super flattering to my body. That being said these seem to have very feminine dimensions to them.
