Rose Gold is one of my favorite things ever. I’m addicted to buying it especially when it comes to jewelry. I’m still really disappointed I lost my favorite rose gold ring at the movies a few months ago. But, because of rose gold’s popularity, I constantly find new ones to “replace” it with. I just really love how rose gold looks with dainty, simple pieces. it’s just incredibly simple and pretty.
One consistent topic I always have to share are the new releases from the Who What Wear x Target line. For over a year now each month new releases have been hitting store shelves in order to give us all access to affordable, street style inspired clothes. They are incredibly on trend or really great variations of trends. They are flattering, cost effective, and, of course, stylish. I definitely believe they are essential for the business casual work environment (which is where I wear them most often), but can really be worn anywhere. Dress them up or wear them casually either way you’ll feel great in something. The best part is they are mix and match. There are core pieces to choose from each month in trendy prints and colors that can be tossed together with other pieces from the collection (or can enhance personal wardrobe favorites).
Lately the collection has been hit or miss, but when I saw some of the pieces recently at Target, I thought I would share the ones most worthy of picking up. I chose the pieces that I think are the most universally flattering, wardrobe necessities, or just plain cool. They are introducing more shoes and accessories as the collection develops more, so I think those are pretty cool too. Especially these interesting dip front mules which I’m really undecided about.
‘Millennial Pink’ is the color that just won’t go away. No seriously, according to New York Magazine, the color is here to stay and we see it so much we don’t even realize it. It appears in hair color, drinks, clothing, and even make up palettes. Truth be told it’s not even really a color of its own. It’s simply a descriptive word for any color pink from cotton candy to a dusty rose or blush. It can even describe the color that falls between beige and peach.
According to The Cut, “It’s ironic pink, pink without the sugary prettiness. It’s a non-color that doesn’t commit, whose semi-ugliness is proof of its sophistication.” You’ve pretty much seen it everywhere. Heck there’s even an Instagram account dedicated to the color. I’m not sure why this is a trend, but I like it because with all of the variations of pink it encompasses there’s something for everyone. Yeah even I can find some pieces of “millennial pink” to incorporate into my own wardrobe. It’s a little feminine without trying too hard. Either way it doesn’t appear the color is going anywhere too soon.
There’s a wide range of emotions one goes through when their friends begin to announce they are having children. First, you wonder how you got this old where married people are starting a family. Then you try to forget about it because there’s a tiny little biological fire deep inside you wondering what’s wrong with you. Why don’t you have a babies of you own? Time is running out. You don’t want to be the old mom in the elementary school class, you wanna be the cool mom. You better hurry. Next, you gotta buy all the little baby stuff and attend a baby shower. This inevitably reignites the baby fire of confusion, and the cycle begins all over again.
Cynical? Probably, but deep down we all want the same things: love, marriage, (sometimes) kids. Naturally it’s a bit hard to avoid the existential crisis that comes along with all of these life events. Everyone else seems to have it together, what am I doing wrong? Eventually I came to the conclusion, age is just a number and my life isn’t together enough (yet) for me to mess up a poor helpless child’s life. But that still leaves one frivolous yet burning question: What the hell do I wear to a baby shower?
I’ve been so incredibly bored with my closet lately. There hasn’t been a single day this week (except maybe one) where I haven’t reached for a light, baggy sweater and jeans. It might be a mood based thing (everything seems to suck) or maybe it’s just so hot & humid out I just don’t want to be bothered. Unfortunately, I have occasions coming up where surely people will not want to see my laziness/mood on full display. SO I went in search of inspiration. What is cool right now? What are people wearing? What do I wish I could pull off as some #GOALS?
Enter Martha Hunt. I don’t know much about her other than she’s a Victoria’s Secret model and a member of Taylor Swift’s “squad.” Whatever that is…After seeing an outfit I could really pull off, I fell into a complete rabbit hole looking at her style. Victoria’s Secret models are my favorite source of life inspo. I’m not even gonna lie I love doing Youtube work outs that claim I can get Victoria’s Secret abs, legs, or whatever other body part you can name. I WISH I could have abs this great. Anyway, Martha’s style is sexy and just plain cool. There were so many outfits I wanted to copy instantly. Most of them were simple but well put together and eye catching.
Below you’ll find some of my favorites and selected pieces to recreate them.
Ah Zara, the one place I can be found when it feels like everything in the world isn’t going that great. Okay maybe I should find better ways of dealing with unpleasant emotions rather than spending money or valuable time wandering around Zara. Hey, to each their own. Regardless, I think it’s pretty well known Zara is one of my all time favorite places to shop. One of their gigantic sales is still going on, but an all new collection has just hit the web. There’s a pair of very polarizing leggings.
