Summer Shopping List

I haven’t been really been into looking for clothes lately. That might just be a #mood problem or maybe I just haven’t found anything I absolutely love. Even with H&M’s sale over memorial day I only ended up ordering camisole & a pair of sworts (shorts that are sweats) as if I could justify that or maybe I’ve just given up on life. Who knows. But that got me thinking about all the things I want to buy for summer. All those beautiful things my wardrobe is lacking and can be improved with.

Some are trendy pieces like a woven bag or solid white sneakers while others are classics like a striped boatneck and denim shorts. Gingham is a classic pattern (just ask J. Crew) that happens to be incredibly trendy this summer, but I can’t think of wearing it on anything except a button down (or maybe a nice dress). I really love this polka dot Zara romper because it looks like a really cute dress. By the looks of it I could really break up the monochromatic nature of my closet this summer.

Shopping List: Las Vegas

Next month I’ll be heading off to Las Vegas for a little birthday trip (yikes). I’ve only been once before for 24 hours to see Jay-Z a couple years ago. Since I’m going with some of my closest friends I have tried to determine what it is best to pack. Granted their only answer was “all the sequins.”

I’m not much of a sequins girl but I made a list of possible things worth purchasing for my trip. Okay maybe I would consider a sequin top since this is the only place I can see that being acceptable. There are some things I already own but could upgrade seeing as this is a great excuse to do so.

Spring Shopping List

There are three factors that contribute to me wanting to go shopping. Either I haven’t bought clothes in a while (“a while” being relative), Zara is having a sale, or I have just cleaned out my closet of clothes I no longer wear. Fortunately for me, all three of these things are currently true so I’ve created a bit of a shopping list. This shopping list is a combination of spring trends and just a few other things I wish my closet currently had.

I bet you can gather which are the trends (this monochrome girl isn’t jumping at the bit to rock some yellow now is she?) and what are pieces I have my eye on. Huge spring trends include yellow, banker stripes, flat mules, and tulle. Every girl needs a good pair of mirrored sunnies and I’ll buy nearly anything with stripes (hi, blog name). I don’t necessarily need a new bralette, but Madewell has a lingerie collection I am absolutely obsessed with.

Gift Guide: Galentine’s Day

Valentine’s Day is next week, and I won’t even sit here and pretend love is super great. In fact, for the first time in my life I actually hate the word love and everything it encompasses. I am no longer the starry-eyed, hopeful girl I once was. The truth is even when you try your hardest and give everything you have to someone else, it doesn’t always work out. I’m not a Debbie Downer but it sucks to feel isolated, alone, and unimportant. So if you’re lucky in love, please do tell me your secrets.

Enter the greatest (television event) Galentine’s Day. A day for celebrating the two best people who deserve gifts: my friends + myself. My friends are always there for me when I need them and listen to my ridiculous behavior and nonsensical thoughts. Plus we spend so much time together, it’s hard not to love them. I also love myself…sometimes. Galentine’s Day is the ultimate occasion to treat yo self. As they say, you can’t love someone else until you fully love yourself…or whatever that quote says. Even if you don’t have an S.O. to spend time with over the worst of greeting card holidays (only greeting card holiday?), you can always shower those closest to you with love.

February Shopping List

The transitional fashion season is upon us. It’s not (that) cold anymore, but it’s also not that hot. It’s just….nice out. That really doesn’t stop me from online shopping or dreaming up everything my closet needs. Or what I think my closet needs anyway…

In My Shopping Cart at Zara

It’s no surprise Zara is my absolute favorite place to go. I buy tons of my clothes there and, other than Design Within Reach, it’s my favorite place to go when I’m feeling down. Malls these days are completely overrun with holiday shoppers and incredibly unfortunate teenagers so I tend to just browse a lot online.

For being considered “fast fashion” I still love so many of their pieces. Plus, there is a true art to shopping at Zara. One of the reasons I love Zara is the European feeling their clothes give off. There’s a lot of silhouettes and items that really aren’t seen anywhere else. Another reason I love it is the with the wide variety of prices and different clothing lines within the brand, there’s always something new and interesting to find. I like how easily I can wear any of the pieces I buy on a night out but also to work with a few little tweaks. The more bang from my buck I can get, the better. But one of the best parts is I can buy more trendy pieces that don’t fall apart after one wear (I’m looking at you H&M lace up blouse).

A few of the pieces here are from their Studio collection which recently just came out. I love so many of those pieces I wish I could just buy them all. Obsessed.

So I Want to Buy…Ankle Boots

Ankle boots are one of my favorite fall things. Of course, they aren’t strictly limited to fall, but in the desert, they can be pretty limiting. I have a couple trusty pairs already, but I can’t help feeling like I need to purchase some new, hip pairs of ankle boots.
