The List

The List: Joggers

I love a good pair of joggers. Joggers are just really stylish sweatpants. They have a better fit and grab at the ankle. They are lazy and just lazy enough without screaming “I haven given up on life.” I wear mine a lot on Sundays because it is usually a day for lounging around and being comfortable. They pair really well with sneakers if you choose to wear them out and about. I think my favorite thing about them is I can feel dressed without really getting dressed all the way. Depending on the color choice, they can appear like regular pants. I saw a lot of different color and pattern choices when looking around at different sweatpants options. They are just your typical greys, blacks, and grey black combinations. No, some even appear to look like tailored trousers in special colors and even a pinstripe pattern. I’m not really sure I would go that far to remain comfortable while trying to appear appropriately dressed for any occasion.

Waiting (Impatiently) for Sweater Weather…

The Pumpkin Spice Latte is officially back at Starbucks which means fall is almost here. Okay maybe it’s only the beginning of September and still an average of 106 degrees outside daily, but fall is coming. Even my local Target got in on the action albeit prematurely by featuring three straight mini aisles of pumpkin flavored goods (which had been completely ransacked). I already bought pumpkin spice coffee creamer and I am ready to be rocking sweaters daily.

I’ve already been wearing light, baggy sweaters since about Sunday because I got the most horrible back sunburn over Labor Day. It’s been my saving grace and protection from the sun. Sweaters are my absolute favorite item of clothing because they can be casual or dressed up. There are so many styles to choose from, and they keep you warm. There’s even some materials and cuts that can be worn during the transitional time between summer and fall. Or if you live in Arizona, just the days until suddenly one day its cold and you don’t know how that happened.

The List – Back to Class

There’s a line from one of my favorite movies, You’ve Got Mail, that goes like this:

Don’t you love New York in the fall? It makes me want to buy school supplies. I would send you a bouquet of newly sharpened pencils if I knew your name and address. On the other hand not knowing has its charms.

Now, sure, I don’t live in New York, and it’s not remotely close to fall around here. But there’s something about going blissful about going back to school. Since that film was released in 1998 I’ve always used it to encompass my feelings about the fall. Maybe it’s my Type-A personality or just the longing for a time where stress wasn’t a constant, but I genuinely love going back to school. Now that I’m entering what is supposed to be my final semester at college going back to class will be something I miss. Buying office supplies just doesn’t quite have the same ring to it.

These are a few of the things I find essential to making it through the semester. Headphones to drown out the noise, comfy clothes for hours spent studying, and the supplies to keep everything in line. Okay, so maybe its an attempt to keep things in line. College is a whole new breed of chaos sometimes.

The List – Rose Gold

Rose Gold is one of my favorite things ever. I’m addicted to buying it especially when it comes to jewelry. I’m still really disappointed I lost my favorite rose gold ring at the movies a few months ago. But, because of rose gold’s popularity, I constantly find new ones to “replace” it with. I just really love how rose gold looks with dainty, simple pieces. it’s just incredibly simple and pretty.
